Wendi Makus, LPC, AADC
Wendi has been practicing for 9 years and is experienced in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, mood instability, disruptive behaviors in children and addictions. She also has a certification and/or training in Trauma-Focused- Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Seed Digging Therapy, and EMDR. Wendi is also a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with experience in working with individuals that have a mental health and substance abuse disorder simultaneously.
Wendi uses an eclectic approach to counseling: drawing influence from trauma focused intervention, ego state/parts work, person centered, holistic, and CBT. Wendi includes evidenced-based models to tailor treatment and care according to each client’s individual needs. Wendi is dedicated to providing a non-judgmental, strengths-based, and emotionally supportive environment for her clients to find solutions for problems and find healthy ways to cope with challenges they may be facing.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree then received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southern Arkansas University in2012 and now is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC). Wendi is an Oregon native, but now calls Southern Arkansas home as she has lived in Southern Arkansas for 14 years. Wendi loves traveling, drinking coffee, being outdoors, and spending time with family and her dynamic duo of Saint Bernard’s. Wendi is passionate about helping others in their personal journey toward improved mental health and quality of life.
